IVI Publishing, Inc., is one of the first companies to recognize how the revolution in information technology dramatically affects health care and medicine. Founded in 1991, the company publishes helpful, interesting health and medical information in a variety of interactive multimedia formats for three markets: consumer, education and professional medical.
Initially, IVI has focused on CD-ROM titles for both IBM and Macintosh platforms. Its premier title, Mayo Clinic Family Health Book CD-ROM, has to date sold more than 800,000 copies. IVI has a broad publishing agreement with Mayo Clinic which includes creating a digital library of medical information which will ultimately be distributed through a variety of electronic vehicles to consumer, schools and medical professionals. IVI also has an agreement with Time Life, Inc., as its exclusive digital publisher of health and medical content, and is partners with McGraw-Hill in health-related electronic textbook development.
Through its affiliate label program, IVI offers independent software companies assistance in marketing and distributing multimedia titles that extend beyond the medical and health arenas. All of IVIs consumer titles are available through major retail outlets nationwide.
